i've decided to do a new thing. from today, i will tell you the brief meaning of each Tarot Cards that shows up on the episodes of Maou(魔王). hope it'll b helpful xD

For today's "Today's Tarot Card", i will tell you the meaning of 2 cards. they are from Episode 1. "The Wheel of Fortune(運命の輪)", and "Judgement".



Card: The Wheel of Fortune -運命の輪-

Episode/Scene/Place/Event: Episode 1, Scene 21. Shiori's picking a Tarot card before work @ cafe "ガランサス".

しおりが外出前に選んだカード「運命の輪」。ここでは“再会の暗示”という意味が使われていますが、このカードには、“何かが未来に向けて大きく変わる”といった、 もっと深い意味があり、その“何か”とは、これから起きる出来事や出会いが、その人の運命を真っ二つに分けてしまうほどの展開が予想される。という意味が含まれています。

English Translation:

"Wheel of Fortune", is the card that Shiori picked before going to work. In this drama, it was said that this card means "A hint of resumption", but really, this card has a more deap meaning to it that could change alot of your life. It has the meaning of "Something will change largely towards the future", and that "something" means that "It is predicted, that an event or an encounter may cause the person's life to split in two".









Card: Judgement -審判-

Episode/Scene/Place/Event: Episode 1, scene 28 @ Shibuya Eastern Police Station, when Kaoru comes to tell Naoto the meaning of "Judgement".

ドラマの中では、“過去の罪への償い”“避けてきたことと向き合う”といった意味である事を、しおりが芹沢刑事達に説明している、 この「審判」のカードは大アルカナ（１）の最後から二枚目のカードになります。より掘り下げた解釈をすると、人生の中では、喜びや幸せ、悲しみを感じることなど色々な出来事がたくさんあり、 その時々で自分自身の意志で決断したことが、間違った判断である事も時にあります。 “今すべき決断は、たとえ間違っていても自身が選んだ決断であるために変えることはできない。”といった、とても大きな意味を持つカードで、 このカードを選んだ時は、自分の意志に忠実に決断し、良い方向へ導いていくしかないのです。そこに嘘や偽りがあると、悪い方向へ導かれてしまう。 といった深い意味をもったカードなのです。



※大アルカナ（１）とは？

タロットの主幹ともいえるカード２２枚のことを指します。大アルカナとは純日本語で表記すると大奥義と訳されます。この２２枚は人間の誕生から死までのストーリー、 即ち人間の成長していく様子を描いたドラマともいえ、タロットの世界（78枚中）の中でも重要な象意を示すのです。０愚者・１魔術師・２女教皇・３女帝・４皇帝・５神官・６恋人・７戦車・８正義・９隠者・１０運命の輪・１１ミラクル・１２吊るされた男・１３死神・ １４節制・１５悪魔・１６塔・１７星・１８月・１９太陽・２０審判・２１宇宙

English Translation:


In the drama, Shiori is explaining the meaning of the card "Judgement", the second to last card of the Major Arcana(1) as "the atonement to the sin in the past", "face with something that has been avoided". If you explain this more thoroughly, it means that in life, there are times and events when you feel happiness and/or sadness, and depending on the time, the decision that you have made yourself might be a bad decision. "The decision that you have to make now, even if it is wrong, it cannot be changed as it is the decision you made.", is the meaning of the card, and is also a very deap meaning, and when you pick this card, you only have a choice to decide on your will faithfully, and lead it to the bright side. If there are any lies and/or deceits, it will be lead to the dark side.



*What is Major Arcana(1)?

They are the 22 cards that are said that they are the principal bronchus of the Tarots. The signage of Major Arcana in pure japanese would be "大奥義". These 22 cards are the stories of a human's life, i.e. it is the plot of one's growth, and out of the world of Tarot(out of 78 cards), it is said that it shows the most important things. 0・The Fool, 1・The Magician, 2・The High Priestess, 3・The Empress, 4・The Emperor, 5・The Hierophant, 6・The Lovers, 7・The Chariot, 8・Strength, 9・The Hermit, 10・The Wheel of Fortune, 11・Justice, 12・The Hanged Man, 13・Death, 14・Temperance, 15・The Devil, 16・The Tower, 17・The Star, 18・The Moon, 19・The Sun, 20・Judgement, 21・The World.
